The Regeneration Project is a celebration of connection to place and represents the communities shared experience of the 2019/20 bush fires.
We are looking for local artists, community, and facilitators to get involved in the Regeneration Project. Paid and volunteer opportunities are available for professional and emerging artists and arts workers.

Who is Eligible?
We are looking for artists who can demonstrate a significant connection with the Scenic Rim region. To be eligible you must either:

Live or work in the Scenic Rim region

Live or work in an area that has significantly been impacted by Australian
major bush fires. -
Collaborating with a Scenic Rim artist or community group

Assessment Criteria
Whilst all project streams are unique, the following criteria are applicable across all projects:

Experience of lead artist
-
Capacity of project to build community skills, connections, or regeneration

Relevance and viability of proposed project to community

Residential location of artist
Please note that due to our purpose of ensuring the Regeneration project supports local artists and arts workers the following weightings will be given to Assessment Criteria 4.

Mural Project
UPPER BEECHMONT SUBMISSIONS NOW CLOSED

This project will commission and install community murals, designed to celebrate our connection to place and represent our shared experience of the bush fires. These murals will be created across Beechmont and other fire impacted communities in the Scenic Rim Region. These murals will serve as inspiration for the Beechmont recovery as they continue their rebuilding and nurturing of the environment that they live in.

Memoir Project
We will gently gather stories of our experience. This project will bring together a digital, audio visual and hard copy collection of stories, poems, interviews, photographs and artwork to become a tangible record of our experience - our story. A story of community resilience, recovery, and regeneration. With permission and in consultation with contributors, gathered stories will also inform a contemporary performance piece titled ‘Leave Now’.

Exhibition
We are curating a group exhibition that responds meaningfully to the Bushfire experience that impacted many communities across Australia last Spring and Summer. A range of artistic medians will explore the impact of bushfire and the themes of recovery, resilience, and regeneration.

Workshops
We aim to offer a workshop program that builds community connection, capacity and resilience. This program can include wellness workshops, art therapy, creative activities, master classes, creative industries development, creative makers workshops, performing arts and more.
